Three anglers competing in the FLW Series event at Grand Lake in Oklahoma were hospitalized after a boat collision today.
According to local media reports, the incident occurred at 11:30 a.m. on day 1 of the three-day event. All four occupants of the two boats were knocked into the water. Medical helicopters flew two of the injured competitors to local hospitals and the other was transported via ambulance.
The wreck occurred under low-visibility conditions produced by fog.
An FLW communications official told BassFan in an email that the names of the angers involved have not yet been released and that no update on their conditions was presently available. The organization is awaiting an accident report from the Grand River Dam Authority and expects to release a statement later today.
