Bassmaster Elite Series newcomers Stetson Blaylock and Alton Jones Jr. are new members of the BOOYAH Bait Co. pro staff, the company announced today.
"Stetson is a great fisherman with a great work ethic," said BOOYAH brand manager Chad Warner. "He has a drive to succeed at every level, with strong faith and family values. I knew he needed to be one of our guys."
Blaylock said he's excited to join the BOOYAH team.
"I've watched BOOYAH become one of the top bait brands in bass fishing by making affordable products that flat catch bass. I can't wait to help them design more baits that do the same thing."
Warner added, "Stetson doesnít want to just wear our logo. He wants to be involved at every level in building the best BOOYAH products possible. That's super-important because BOOYAH will continue to do what we do, which is innovate around some of the most proven baits ever fished."
Jones Jr. joins his well-known father Ė long-time Bassmaster Elite Series pro Alton Jones Ė on the BOOYAH pro staff. Both Joneses will be competing against one another on the Bassmaster Elite Series and in the 2017 Bassmaster Classic.
"I'm really excited to be a part of the BOOYAH family," Jones Jr. said. "Iíve grown up fishing BOOYAH baits, and they've played a huge role in forming me into the angler I am today. Itís every anglerís dream to partner with baits they use the most, and for me that dream came true."
Jones Jr. earned his Classic spot by winning Red River Central Open and qualified for the Elite Series through the Central Opens. His success isn't surprising since he has grown up around professional bass fishing.
"As I monitored Alton Jr.ís success in 2016, I was impressed by his ability to fish beyond his years, read the water and make crucial on-the-water decisions," Warner said. Still, Warner wanted to spend a day on the water with Jones to get a feel for him personally.
"Needless to say, he surpassed my expectations with qualities and characteristics that align perfectly with ours," Warner said. "Knowing his dad, I'm not surprised. We're proud to have Alton Jr. as part of the BOOYAH team and look forward to the 2017 season. It will be like no other for the Jones family."
